Artists - in this case - photographers, need to keep track of their work. For example, how many prints of this photograph have been made? Where are they (Artist, Sold, On Loan, etc).
PhotoBase is an app to manage this workflow.
Unfortunately, when I developed PhotoBase, I poured in everything plus a kitchen sink. I have pulled the app for now, and I'm whistling it down to essential processes. Should be out later in 2020.
There seems to be several tasks in making a photograph. A digital photographer will:
plan a shoot (location, date, objective).
take (shoot) the image
Decide on the number of photographs to print from this image (editions)
print the images
manage the disposition of the photograph (at home, in a gallery, on loan, sold etc)
Film photographers have the additional processes of developing the film (managing film, chemicals, paper), and printing the image (darkroom equipment, supplies, etc).
Editions is really setting a limit on the number of prints that will be made for this photo.
The app can list and browse your photographs. Details shows the details of the photograph - camera used, notes on the shot and exposure details, such as f-Stop, speed, etc.
Editions are listed -- an edition can be x photographs printed in one size, and Y photographs printed in another size.
The framing section, is a kitchen sink that will show how the print will look in various frames.
The equipment and supply sections of PhotoBase allow you to detail each item in your workflow.
After you've entered each item (once), you'll be able to quickly assign an item to a particular photograph.
There are different settings and default values, so you can tailor your use of the app to fit your personal workflow.
