My GPS Locator shows where you are in the world, even when in Airplane Mode.
"My GPS Locator" shows your current location on a map. If you have an internet connection, you can tap a location to see its address. If you are in Airplane mode, you will only receive location information via GPS. It's kind of nice on an airplane to see where you are.I was on a cross country flight a few weeks ago. The airplane, while new, was bare-bones in terms of technology. There was no map. I like to know where I am and what's around me. So, I wrote this app to only use Global Positioning to achieve this.
GPS works, even when your device is in airplane mode.
There are two modes - follow me and look around.
Follow Me keeps your current location centered on your device. Look Around, allows you to do just that.
The "Look Around" mode allows you to move the underlying map without regard to your location. Please note that the world currently has three main GPS areas of coverage. One in Asia, one over the US and Atlantic, and the other over Europe and Africa. There are many many satelites, but there may be some places that exist without GPS coverage. The map will not show in this case.
"The Follow me" mode follows your iPhone's location. If you try to enlarge/reduce or move the map, the app will pull you back to your location. This allows you to follow your location when traveling. You can of course zoom in and out of the map.

"The Zoom In button" allows you to zoom into the map location, seeing more details.
The Zoom Out button" allows you to zoom out from the map location getting a wider view of your location.
"The return button " is used to take you to your current location. This is useful if you've been 'looking around'
The "Info Button" gets you to the explanation page in the app.
